wow I love templates and lists - how did you know?!? Basics Name/Penname: matcha Age: 20-something State/country: UK Education: English Literature/Creative Writing graduate woo Hobbies and Favorites What are your hobbies? visiting coffee shops, looking after my dog, reading, kpop/jpop, watching dramas/anime, video games, living the hermit life What is/are your favorite book(s) and authors? too many...for now let's go withhh... George Macdonald and Matt Haig? Am also known to consume vast amounts of non-fiction, magazines, web comics and artbooks. What is/are your favorite movie(s) and TV show(s)? Don't really watch TV these days...mostly comedy shows. Don't really have a favourite when it comes to movies either. Writing How long have you been writing? I used to write as a kid/teen, then for my degree...so a long time! For the past few years I've come to a complete halt though. So recently...not at all. What was the first story you wrote that you remember? (Is it finished, and has anyone read it?) I wrote mostly poetry and plays as a kid, and as a teen I made good progress on a fantasy novel involving crystal-based magic and glass buildings and auras or something - my closest friends were forced to read it and looking back I feel so bad for them!! Tell us a little about your favorite character to write about. For one short story I had a nameless fire spirit that was stuck in a fireplace...they got a happy ending (most my writing ends ambiguously, so that says it all haha) Tell us a little about a fantasy world you've created. "Magical-Realism"/slight fantasy is more my thing? So...worlds not too dissimilar from ours but with mysterious stuff going on. Tell us a little about your current work in progress. How's it going? One idea I have brewing is more sci-fi/dystopian/speculative fiction than fantasy so not sure if that'll have a place here... I've had another on/off project...which is all about re-interpreting British folklore, but has always been stuck in the research stage oops. Have you participated in NaNoWriMo? If so, how has your experience been? Nope but kinda want to this year? Just need the motivation for it. Worldsmyths How did you find out about Worldsmyths? Google What made you decide to join? I like smaller communities and the site layout so I figured why not join? What do you hope to gain from Worldsmyths? (Examples: Find a beta reader, get feedback, motivation, a sense of community, fine-tuning the craft, etc) Encouragement, to be less of a hermit and maybe read some interesting original stuff. Also make friends maybe idk?
